BS2,BS3,BS4 Engines and their differences

BS is the Bharat Stage ,an emission control system of India

First comes to BS2 engines,

BS2 engines emits lots of HC and CO,these are polluting agents in  our atmosphere
a catalytic converter is needed to controll this.

Now BS3,

There is a presence of catalytic converter, that reduces the formation of HC and CO,these are harmful gases emitted by automobiles.these are compared to Euro 3 engines. BS3 engines are must in cities to reduce pollution.

Now BS4,

BS4,engine is most advanced then BS3,here there is a modification in catalytic converter, where it is more eco friendly and it has the range of Euro 4 engines . BS4 engine are compulsory in metro cities all over India. since the engine sound are lite and increased mileage due to low amount of fuel burning. But this engines are costlier than BS3 engines.
